This is the second time I've bought a replacement power supply for my HP laptop. I didn't buy a replacement because anything was wrong with the one that came with the laptop, I bought it as a spare, to keep in another room, or to travel with, so that I don't constantly have to unplug the original power supply. I think I bought both replacements from different vendors, but I am not sure, as I just searched for HP power supplies using the numbers on my original power supply. I noticed there are a lot of aftermarket and counterfeit power supplies. You have to be very careful, and I don't trust aftermarket power supplies. The first power supply I bought as a spare died on me recently. It had been working fine, and I'd only used it occasionally, but I plugged it in one night to recharge my laptop while I was using it, because the battery was almost dead, and nothing happened. It shut down on me in a few minutes. Then I noticed the charging light on the side of the laptop was not illuminated. I plugged in my original power supply and it worked fine, so I knew the replacement power supply was bad. It was only a few months ago. So, I went back on eBay and searched again and found this one that I just bought. So far, it seems to be working fine, but time will tell. I've only had it a few weeks. It has the HP logo on it, and has the same basic appearance as my original power supply, so I am assuming it is not a counterfeit. I made sure to buy a power supply that was rated at the same amperage and wattage as my original power supply (as I also did with the first replacement power supply), because you have to be careful, as many of the ones listed on eBay are different amp/watt rated. This was purchased as a spare cord. I was careful to check the model numbers off of the one that came with my PC. This spare cord seems to function fine, I'm just not as happy with it compared to my original because the cord itself is thicker and less flexible/pliable than what I expected.
