The ecm arrived quickly in the mail and was pretty much plug and play in my 2007 Buick. The ecm is located in the air intake/filter box so it was pretty easy to get to as well. The replacement ecm was coated in a gray primer or paint which is the only visual difference to the original. The original was just plain aluminum (which is also perfectly fine). My Buick had been acting kind of "crazy" for a few months and had died on me a few times but hadn't logged any codes that would specifically isolate the ecm as the problem until last week. Last week I got a check sum error code 601 which suggests the flash memory bits are loosing their integrity and causing the engine control software (stored in flash memory) to basically crash. I've seen similar kind of "crazy" behavior happen on my windows PC when its SSD flash memory was starting to fail. Sure enough the new used ECM from these good folks in Ohio completely cured my problems and saved this Buick from the scrap yard. Thank you very much. Read full review
