  • OEM Tool 27144 Harmonic Balancer Installer Kit

OEM Tool 27144 Harmonic Balancer Installer Kit This tool worked flawlessly. After purchasing the tool, but before it's arrival, I'd read some reviews. All but one, were very negative.... Thinking, Oh ! What have I done ? Well I sprayed some White Lithium grease into the bearing and worked that in. But was not satisfied that the spray grease was heavy enough. I worked some bearing grease into the bearing like you might do for a wheel bearing. I then sprayed the bolt and adapter with the White Lithium grease as well. Additionally I purchased a heavy washer (1 X 1-1/2 X 14GA) from ACE hardware, that "fit" (meaning that the outside diameter is smaller then the race) between the Bearing, and the Nut that is used to push the balancer onto the shaft. This washer took the brunt of the abuse that the bearing would have suffered. At first, I was not sure how the bearing should go. It could be, that the "Malcontents", MIS-placed the bearing, as there IS a right way, to place it. The bearing spins inside the race. So, the race (Flat side) goes toward the Balancer, and the bearing (Curved side) toward the Nut. The adapter, (which I threaded into the shaft by hand, till it seated), came out, using only my finger and thumb, and I was done !! So, to the Nay Sayers, I say, Bah! You did it wrong !!!

  • Look again

If ur putting loose fitting parts on this product prolly isn’t bad, threaded the tool in to the crank to start installing pulley as soon as I hit a very small about of resistance the threads pulled apart in the crank it seems like the peice that threads in the the crank is a two piece pressed part

  • Very Versatile

This is a very versatile set but the M16-2.0 adapter is not long enough to work on the GM LS type engines.
