one exploded!
I have purchased 4 of these in different wattages, and have been very pleased except the third one. It was this wattage in a 55 gallon tank. It literally exploded. It hit the glass very hard, and might have broken a cheap tank without tempered glass. It appeared to have leaked, heated the water inside, and then exploded. An important point is that it did not electrocute my 21 year old turtle, and it didn't trip the breaker. The circuit board was fried, but somehow stopped the current flow - very strange. I have never rated a Tetra product this poorly, and I did buy another one, so you be the judge on what you decide.
