I'm very experienced in home health care, especially with regard to complex patients. Devices like this pulse oximeter are essential in having current, accurate data on the patient's vital statistics. I tried this device out when I got it, and I found it to set up quickly and easily, and to provide accurate data. I showed it to a good friend who also is an experienced caregiver, and she loved it immediately! So I gave it to her and bought another for myself. These can be lifesaving, and you can see that the price has dropped drastically. (The first one I used ten years ago cost $400; was cumbersome and finicky; and was reliable only on AC current, which limited its use to when a wall socket was nearby. This device, which I've noticed is used by professionals in hospitals, goes wherever you need it, whenever you need it. The back panel which covers the battery compartment has a flimsy catch which breaks easily, but that doesn't worry me, since there are workarounds. Both of my devices had this problem. But I would rather have a portable, quick-response device with a simple workaround than the cumbersome, nonportable device I started with. The portability alone means you can carry this all the time, ready to use it whenever an emergency comes up.Read full review

The shipping was fast, which was a plus. I'm not overly pleased with the monitor and if I were using it regularly, I would be sending it back. It's slow to give the reading and feels very cheaply made. I've used other great monitors, so maybe my expectations were too high.

I'm a nurse. Very good quality. Love having the PLETH - won't diagnose, but when held steady, shows MY PVCs. Besides, colors make routine tasks more fun for client and me! Also a way to be me - I am a professional. I take my chosen career very seriously. Nevertheless, I love to bring my personality to my care and equipment - I have a pink stethoscope, a pink blood pressure cuff, even pink handled scissors, and now, a pink portable O2 sat monitor! Enjoy you work even more with this colorful product!

Ten years ago I had triple by-pass heart surgery with a few unforeseen complications after the fact. They had to re-hospitalize me and run more tests to get things under control. They had a pulse oximeter on me the whole hospital stay. I searched eBay for them when I got home, most were too expensive for my meager finances. I have recently had a health issue possibly tied to my lifelong A-fib episodes. I am researching the problem and saw this Pulse Oximeter for a very low price so I decided to get one, it works great, light weight, easy to read, seems very sensitive to small changes in the oxygen content, and is extremely accurate with the pulse rate. At the current price if you are experiencing any health issues that may be related to blood oxygen, you should buy one of the Pulse Oximeter's and check to see where you are running.Read full review

To the point, love how easy and friendly the pulse ox is to us in the gym! The too gives kids real time feed back on to see how different activity and efforts raise their heart rate. Better yet the student who thinks they can hide and slide by telling me they are working hard, get fast feed back and proof that they are not working! Very affordable, i now have 12 for class.
