I grew up with this edition — carried it around like a bible (which it indeed resembles) — and, when Mostly Harmless was written, it sat next to that last (somewhat depressing, but still fun) Hitchhiker’s book. Buy (and read) The More Than Complete Hitchhiker’s Guide, and then get Mostly Harmless too.

I've watched the tv series, seen the movie, played the computer game but I'd never read the book until I saw a copy of the "More than Complete Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" on Ebay. It was just as good as I expected. This is the seminal British Sci-Fi Humor (or should I say Humour?) epic. If you like the new "Dr. Who" series, you'll love this - it features the same big concept science fiction and quirky British comedy.(Which shouldn't be surprising - Douglas Adams worked on "Dr Who" in the late 1970's). It has a few faults, one being that some jokes seem to meander on for pages and another being the shallow characterization of some major characters. But forget that, the combination of comedy, sci-fi and the commentary on the absurdity of humananity make this an excellent read. Although its conquered just about every form of media that exists, the More Than Complete Guide more than holds its own. The best part about this version is that it resembles a Bible. People will think you're reading the Good Book while you're laughing at the part where God inadvertantly disproves His own existence. 42Read full review

If your not confused to the max already then please read this series as your sure to be soon but that won't stop you from reading further as you want to know what happens next just don't rely on your own common sense as this book will take you places that you never been before and probably glad you weren't.
