The adapter works fine...the drivers disk that comes with it should be left home... it's useless for older computers. You'll have to download the drivers or the seller can get you the link for your particular computer. Other than that, once it's installed, it connects fine. I was running an old machine using Vista Home and was connected to the internet at 433MPS over the wireless router. I figured that was pretty good, considering I had dialup before.

It arrived early and, now that it's installed, it's great, but ... Installation was a bear. The device drivers were on a mini-CD. My computer has 2 vertical CD drives, and the mini-CD dropped out of them and couldn't be read. Ultimately I was able to get a friend to read the CD on his laptop and copy the files onto flash drive. Using the flash drive, it was easy to get the receiver up and working, and, as I said, it works great. I'd have given it 5 stars if hadn't been such a pain getting it installed. I could only recommend it to people whose computers can handle mini-CDs.

Never could get it working. XP pro. Perhaps I could not find the right driver. Linksys has no support for download of the correct driver. They say it is obsolete. So, now I need to find a CD with the install on it.

The small Arial, wi-fi adapter made it possible to pick up my hot spot signal from my cell phone, after I finally figured how to install the driver disc. I never seen a disc that small, which threw me. In addition, I was able to acquire a search engine, but only Fire Fox would work.

I would not buy it or refer it to anyone who don't wish for frustrations.with this technology functions.
