Sleek, Simple, Impressive
Design I really appreciate the elegant and durable metal body Vizio chose. I didn't realize the body was a shout-out to the MacBook. The vent keeps the machine cool very well, although on first glance, the placement above the keyboard seems unusual. The contours of this thing make it sleek and pretty. It's narrow in the front, making it difficult to open at times. Don't drop this thing on your foot. It looks like it would make a great guillotine. Keyboard I was confused at first that there are no dedicated keys for page up, page down, home, and end. I use those often, so the fn + arrow method seems a bit too much work. I like the simple keyboard, and I haven't decided if losing home and end is worth the better layout. Maybe if the up and down keys were bigger... Touchpad The touchpad works fine, but I don't have much to say here - I don't use touchpads. I use my trusty Loitech M325 USB mouse. Display The display is clear and bright. I was very surprised when I took it outside and was able to work in the sunshine. Vizio's display (TV) expertise shines. The display doesn't even seem to take as much power as I would expect for such a bright thing. I'm impressed. Battery life I haven't compared to other similar machines, but since my previous laptop was older and had a relatively short battery life, I am impressed with the battery life of the Vizio. I've never measured its full time between charging, but that should vary widely based on how you use the screen. To my mind, five or six hours of screen time is a lot for a laptop. I think people expecting to have to plug their laptop in only as often as their mobile phones are kidding themselves expecting so much. Performance When Vizio started making laptops, they got a lot of praise for shipping them without all the trashy bloatware that comes on all other machines. Rightfully so. Bloatware is the worst thing you can do to a computer. So, naturally, the Vizio laptop runs quickly and smoothly. The included 4GB of RAM is enough to do everything I need. However, it is definitely not enough for anything more than casual gaming. The Intel HD 4000 shard memory graphics can't do too much with such limited resources. I tried to add RAM, but it is not upgradeable. Memory is soldered onto the board. Storage As any geek knows, a good performing laptop needs fast storage. In my previous laptop, I installed an SSHD (a hybrid drive). The hybrid drive was spacious and it gave a hefty speed-up to all activities. This Vizio laptop doesn't even have room inside for a hard drive. My model has a 256GB SSD, which is plenty of space in the modern age of cloud backups. The SSD makes the system slightly faster than I remember my hybrid drive being, and of course the SSD performance is also more consistent. Cost I was surprised to see how expensive these Vizio machines were. I guess their MacBook look wasn't for nothing. I'm not used to paying for my things, but I like what I got.

Personal opinion on the results of three years of operation.
Во множестве обзоров и рейтингов есть модели ноутбуков Vizio Thin+Light 15.6 IPS 1920x1080) SSD. В большинстве итоговых оценок рейтинг средне или немного выше среднего. Опишу своё ИМХО, памятуя о старой аксиоме «Для кого пенёк, а кому и кол осиновый, смотря по чьему седалищу мерять». ))) Из явных плюсов для меня: 1. Ну очень хороший экран. Углы просмотра почти любые. Рядом сидеть и видеть всё до малейших деталей фото и мелкого текста нет проблем. Троим тож не проблема. Глаза не устают, зачётная цветопередача, работа в Фотошопе легка. На выходе полупрофессиональный результат работы жены многократно оценен интернет сообществом. 2. Включение, запоминание файлов, открытие программ, благодаря SSD весьма быстрое, не сравнимо с механическим жестким диском накопителем. После этого ноута иные кажутся жуткими тормозами. 256 для офисных работ, коллекции фото и предустановленных программ векторной обработки, фотошопа, просмотровой версией Автокада, более чем достаточно. Фильмы не качаю. За три года не забил и половины объема памяти. Комп работал и дома и последний год на работе без перерыва, около 12 часов в день. У жены аналогичная наработка. Её SSD продержался 3,5 года и был легко заменен новым покупным, с помощью предварительно сохранённого на флешке образа софта. Цена нового SSD 256 сегодня около 5 т. р. 3. Действительно тонкий и лёгкий ноут. Этот факт был по достоинству оценен не только в постоянных рокировках кухня-комната, но и ежедневных переносках с работы домой. Ноут без проблем вмещается в кожаную сумку стандартных размеров, купленную по случаю тут же по интернету. Отсутствие дисковода в ноуте скорее плюс, поскольку используется крайне редко и куплен отдельным внешним комбинированным девайсом сразу под все возможные опции: Блю рэй, ДВД, СД. Нужен девайс – легко положил рядом с ноутом в сумку. Для заинтересованных, поисковиком по Ебею с вводом Vizio, легко находится в нескольких предложениях продавцов. Внешний девайс скромных габаритов, действительно совместим с ноутом во всех перечисленных стандартах. 4. Запчастей к ноуту в достатке, достаточно пройти поисковиком по Ебею с вводом Vizio. 5. Ныне очень вкусная цена на оставшиеся в продаже экземпляры категории «восстановленного производителем», новый экземпляр ещё поискать. К бочке мёда, справедливости для, следует добавить несколько ложек дёгтя. 1. Клавиатура не ах. Нередко либо дублируются буквы от нажатия, либо нет реакции на нажатие. 2. Удобства для, в девайсе недостаёт встроенного картридера и интернет порта. 3. Нет возможности апгрейда оперативной памяти с увеличением до 8. Под задачи Автокада хотелось БЫ. 4. Ноут снят с производства. В сухом остатке. Работой двух экземпляров ноута весьма удовлетворён. Куплен в запас третий экземпляр. )))
