It has sound of the complete opposite direction by comparison with RCA VT-231. Neat, Sweet, Glutinous sound. Not richness mid&low range. All-range is somewhat slim but the sound is not as light as a feather. It has the texture of sound is tight, high density, glutinous. It seems that focus on more important things. These Raytheons Work Well In My Preamp
This is the first time I've used Raytheon tubes in the line stage of my excellent preamp and I'm quite pleased. Sound is full, robust, balanced and detailed, with no sense of harshness or sibilance. Warm Sound
Used this pair in my Yaqin CD3 to replace the stock Chinese tubes. They sweetened up the midrange and gave the overall tonality a warmer sound. Heat up quick! Another plus. Worthwhile upgrade for a very reasonable price. As I have learned, VT-231 is a military inventory number and verifies the era when they were produced.
