A God Send
My dog has a torn ACL (maybe - the vets not sure). My puppy is 9. We have considered putting him through an MRI (anesthesia) and surgery (more anesthesia) and for now have decided not to do that to him. The x-rays we have done show NO arthritis, but my gut tells me that is part of his trouble. We changed his dog food to high end ($4.00 per lb.) and began using the Old Dogs! Happy Joints! supplemental treats for 6 weeks and I can tell you that my puppy has improved greatly. He's an Australian Blue Heeler (like the one on Mad Max or Last of the Dogmen). He weighs 60 lbs. He's a tough dog and a loyal one. He's smart and kind and aggressive. He'd take a bullet for me and I have no doubt about that at all, so the not putting him through surgery has nothing to do with dollars, it has to do with what is right and wrong for him. His name is Briscoe. He's my sweetie. Well just know that since he started using this supplement he stopped holding his leg up or walking on it gingerly. Great products from Gray Muzzle!
This company seems to make high quality products that are efficacious in use. I know that their "Brain's Best Friend" has made a marked difference in my most senior pug's cognition since I began using it. So, while I can't quantify the result from using this particular iteration of their product line "Old Dogs Happy Joints" (I can't ask my dog if her joints feel better) I trust Gray Muzzle enough to keep buying their products. Pugs have complex skeletal and joint issues, their curly tails are the result of a genetic defect, after all. This particular old girl, Millie, has a condition called "Pug Myelopathy" that is causing her to gradually lose the use of her back legs so she'll be in a wheelchair soon.
