Just What I Needed
Nothing about this camera surprised me. I already had one that was everything I needed it to be. I have a YouTube channel and the content calls for two-camera shoots. I tried to go a cheap route with the second camera, but too many issues. I finally broke down and bought a second HF G20. Excellent image quality. I'm sure it has a number of great features that I simply don't need; but what I do need, it provides. Sound quality is ideal. I need cameras that accept outside audio feeds and this one does. Not even a competition for the best

Interlacing at 60i is not good
Shooting action at 60i is worthless on this. You just get a weird doubling effect for everything in motion. Best at 30p but not as clear as a camera that would hit 60p. Also, this does not record to MP4. I think those are the only drawbacks. Everything else is superb. Really nice auto settings. Great controls.
