I have used many of the Brother 8890 units, the 8910 has a MUCH improved web interface, and is perhaps10x faster to check or configure various screens. I never install anything except the bare bones print driver, and let the screens take care of the rest. I use it to scan directly to PC and server folders, using SMB and FTP protocol. It also scans to email quite well, even through my finicky ISP. The 16 buttons on the front are easily programmed to preset scan configurations for various resolutions in B/W or color. Printing is fast and crisp, double sided when needed. One feature that I really wish would be added is to save configuration to a backup file. This would greatly aid in setting up more than one unit or in case the unit needs to be reset. Ability to print directly from iPhone or IPad is very fast and slick. Very nice extra feature. Downside - the plastic appears to be less durable than on the 8890 units, but that is hard to know for sure until more time has passed. A great unit, great value.Read full review

This was a replacement for the exact same model that I bought years ago, but was now having printing problem not fixed by the usual replacing the toner and drum. SInce I had just bought those 2 items, I thought rather than waste the $180, I find a printer to use them in. The only problem was that the plug was damaged and took 15 minutes of wrestling to get the plug reinserted. It's been working great for the last 2 weeks
