Failed Effort
Coming off of two of my favorite films, INDISCREET and ONCE MORE WITH FEELING, I expected something at least good from Stanley Donen. When I saw SURPRISE PACKAGE almost 60 years ago I found it very disappointing, and thought I must have missed something. I didn't. The DVD demonstrates that Mr. Donen and the cast seem to have phoned in their work, which is shrill and rarely amusing.
