Killshot, directed by John Madden is a movie about an iron worker Wayne Colson (Thomas Jane) and his soon to be ex-wife Carmen Colson (Diane Lane) witnessed a crime being committed by Armand The "BlackBird" Degas (Mickey Rourke) and Richie Nix (Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Arman is a hit man for the mafia and kills everyone that witness's any of his crimes. He teams up with Richi after tries to kidnap him and rob him because he looks like his younger brother. The original script of this movie had to be strongly edited because it got brutal reviews in prescreens. That being said this movie reminded me a lot of "No Country For Old Men". The entire movie is spent with Armand and Richie trying to track down and kill Wayne and Carmen Colson. With a lot of violence in between. Mickey Rourke's character was amazing to watch. You never knew what his next move would be. He was a very dark character and they leave you guessing about what his life was like in the past. If it wasn't for Rourke this movie would have not been as good for sure. Richie Nix did a great job at portraying just a white trash punk, who treated everybody like crap and is worthless to society. As I was watching this I just wanted "The BlackBird" to kill him. Now I thought the movie was pretty good. I really enjoy these dark movies with a lot of violence. I especially love Mickey Rourke as an actor. There is not much to the plot. So if your into violence and mayhem you should enjoy "Killshot" if not I would definitely pass.Read full review
We saw the previews to this movie & thought it would appeal to us. Mickey Rourke often plays a quirky character & the price was right. The other movie previews that showed before KILLSHOT started kinda had me concerned because they were a totally different genre. They were just a misdirection because KILLSHOT was a good assassin-thriller & not a bad little movie. Mickey Rourke did the quirky thing again & that worked. Current value price suits the age & quality of this production. Happy Trails!
A weak storyline is killed off by the fact that Diane Lane, Mickey Rourke, and other actors make everything about this movie exciting! A stellar buy!
