I've used this as a fishing line before with great success, which is why I tried about 10 years ago to sew with it. I build our own logistic straps, which is the straps used to secure cargo on trucks. I've had normal nylon threading blow up after use, but since using this on an industrial sewing machine it has helped to make our straps bullet proof. And I mean that literally, because I have also incorporated Kevlar sleeve at the points of contact for the belting and steel. The other weak points are the connection to the ratchets, and the "E" clips. I incorporate the Kevlar sleeving to protect this points. We also use the Kevlar sleeve to protect the strapping where they go around the corners of the cargo. So now the only weak point is where the strapping is wound on the ratchets, which I cannot do anything about. So we tell the drivers to move there clipping pints so that they don't always use the same area of the long strap to ratchet on. But what we have done has made the straps last 10 times longer than they use to. And the Suffix braid has made a great contribution to that. Has anyone else ever tried to sew with it? I've used it at home to sew different homemade products and it works great. Fruit picking bags, crab/opihi bags, etc. Lasts forever. The rest of the piece falls apart before the stiching.
