Good quality battery powered electric unit

This is a battery powered unit that is for light duty work. The string is not overly strong or wide, but it does the trick for light jobs. It is very easy to use and lightweight. It is made so junk does not normally fly up toward the user. The spools are extremely easy to replace, and they are fairly cheap (I bought several for 10 dollars). Also unlike my heavy duty electric corded one, this only has one string coming out of it whereas my heavy duty one has two strings that are heavier duty (thicker diameter), and it is much heavier and more powerful.

    Lightweight but lacks real power

I cannot compare this to any other cordless trimmer, because this is my first, but it lacks any real power compared to my gas trimmer or corded trimmer. I bought it because every spring I have to have my gas trimmer repaired and I thought this would make a great option. I own a little less than an acre of land and I can't use a corded trimmer. My real problem with it is that I have to hold it in the same place for a long time in order to get it to cut. It leads to fatigue. If you have a small yard, this might be perfect for you, but if you have a tough hard to manage, you need more power.

  • Great as an edger

Great as an edger, but not so good as a trimmer. The line used is so small that it will have a hard time cutting through anything bigger than wispy grass blades. It's also not designed very well for use as a trimmer. The head or end should be angled in a way that it lays flat above the ground. Instead you end up cutting at an angle which doesn't give you good looking results. As an edger though it was just what I needed. To put a nice cut on the edge of my lawn without having to carry it the whole length of the lawn. The wheels make edging a breeze. Some have complained about battery life. I haven't had any problems and I have a rather large yard to take care of. Would I buy again, yes.

  • good cordless weedeater

it a good weedeater for the price, the only reason i gave it only four stars and not five is all the qvc video's about the 3.0 gt said in the video that it was a three in one, and its only two, it is only a weedeater and edger and not a mini mower, i bought it for my father who is 76 years old and still wont let anyone help him with his yard work, its light weight and we are both a little over six feet tall so the four more inch's of extension it has is really nice. has decent power but the battery does not last as long as the infomercial acted, his house is 65 feet long and i did the mail box, a couple trees and pole's and about 3/4 of the front of the house and the battery died, about 20 minutes of weed eating. but it does come with 2 batteries so that is pretty good if you have both charged up. all in all i would recommend this product. thanks rick

  • Great for touch up

It's good for to use if the grass isn't to high. I edge mine with a gas edger the first time then use this one each time I cut it after that. If the grass gets to high I use my gas weedwacker for it, if the grass isn't to high this works fine. It's lightweight and is easy to use. I wouldn't take out my gas ones after each time I cut my grass but I do take this one out because it is so easy to use. My lawn looks great.

  • Good trimmer for the money

Had one for three years worked great, lost bottom cover to spool, never really found another that fit. Then I lost my charger (small little thing). So I ordered another for $60 and love it. No it is not a strong gas engine trimmer, but it can do my whole yard just fine. The line is very thin so I do have to keep adding line but this is a very light weight trimmer so it is very easy to handle.

  • Great little weed-eater for the price.

Love it! A gas weed-eater is too heavy for me, so I was using a corded weed-eater, but it is broken beyond repair. I was skeptical of a battery operated one, but my neighbor had one and she loves hers. Well, I took the plunge and ordered me one..............The BEST decision ever. I just love it, and it gets my trimming done on one battery charge. I gave it four stars instead of five because I would have liked it to be just a little more powerful, but it did get the job done, and I didn't have to wrangle with two 50 foot extension cords. I would certainly recommend.

  • Good Value!

The WORX trimmer edger works great! It's light, maneuverable, easy to adjust. I've never had an edger before. This makes it easy and fast. The spools could hold more line and the battery needs to hold more charge. But having two batteries allows me to get the whole yard done in one effort.

  • Worx Sux UPDATE

I've had this thing for three weeks now and several people have tried to help me assemble it. The 'instructions' are a series of pictures that are not at all clear. AARGH! Stay away. Okay, no sooner did I write that than a neighbor managed to get it put together and working. So it works well, and it's fairly tough. It would be a five-star with better instructions. What a relief. Will update if and when I ever get it working.

  • Good value not great.

I purchased this item refurbished for $40 and because of the price point, I would recommend as a good value. That said, the batteries take forever to fully charge and the power of the trimmer is lacking. This will get the job done but for anything bigger than a medium size lawn, you will be changing batteries midway and you will notice that this weed wacker is not a powerful as you would like. For $40 however, with 2 batteries and the charger, it is worth it if you are looking for an inexpensive solution.
