I was going to use my old Ryzen 5 1600 for a low-budget system since I purchased a newer CPU over the holidays.. before I could toss it into the extra motherboard I had I literally tossed it onto the floor aka fumbled and bent some pins beyond repair. I went online and looked for the cheapest Ryzen 5 CPU and grabbed a 1400 for like $50. I didn't expect it to be the fastest chip ever but I am very surprised as it runs very COOL w/ the stock AMD Wraith heatsink. On an old ASUS B350-F mobo w/ 16GB RAM, I tossed a 960gtx GPU into it and was impressed with what it could do... More than enough CPU for any 'older' games say before 2020-2018... but probably not enough for Doom Eternal, God of War (2018), and some beefier games... Honestly depends what GPU you have in there because the Quad-Core CPU runs @ 3.2Ghz. The 1600 was a 6-core, but this 1400 Quad-core is impressive and like all AMD chips will probably outlive me... I'd highly recommend this CPU for anyone building a budget gaming system, but this chip would also be awesome for anyone who just wants a fast office PC for work, media, and whatever else.Read full review

Bought it to upgrade my old fx during that 20% day. Actually a great multitasker especially when overclocked. I recommend overclocking to at least 3.5GHZ you will see a ~15% increase in performance. If you do not want to overclock, go for a 1500x or 1600 because they will provide better value for money at stock speeds

The processor paired well with my older gpu the GTX 1060. Overall the performance of this processor is very good, you can play any modern day title at 1080p maxed settings. It's a great buy for someone looking for a mid-range CPU, or for anyone starting out in their PC adventure. All in all, this CPU is a definite go-to as it is easy-to-installl, provides fast speeds, and is affordable.

Great CPU. Not a heavy gamer but need adequate speed and solid reliability for running software 24/7. It's made to overclock if you need to. It's nice it comes with a decent cooler. Shipping was a tad slow but it did come from across the country so not really a complaint for $ I saved.

As anticipated the Ryzex 5 1400 processor is a good start for building a very fast gaming PC. Be aware that the CPU does not support graphics so an additional card is required. I am using a Zotac GeForce GTX 960. Make a great gaming combo. Not the fastest CPU or GPU, but more than adequate for lots of fun.
