Quality product and well worth the money
I have tried several types of flashlight mounts and have been disappointed in the products. They would generally loosen and slide over time from the shotgun's recoil. I figured I would "bite the bullet " and spend the money for this forend flashlight.. It is well worth the money and should last a life time. Very high quality product .that looks like it is factory installed. Fits perfectly on my 870 Remington. Easy to turn on and off, either steady light or quick flash with the built in pressure switch.. I have other Streamlight flashlights and Streamlight is top of the line. The illumination from my other flashlights as well as this forend light are brilliant. They really light up the room. The forend light really doesn't add much noticeable additional weight to the gun. Installation should have been easier than it was due to operator error. It took me longer to find a tool to remove the forend nut than the actual process itself. A shotgun forend wrench is definitely something that would speed up the process. Installation after that was very simple. After installation was complete, I realized my sling which was attached to the barrel lug was blocking the beam from the flashlight. I'm still working on this dilemma but have removed the sling in favor of having the excellent illumination from the forend light. I couldn't be happier with this product. Lightweight, easy to install and comfortable to use.
This forend light is easy to install and use. It's lightweight and is about the size of the Magpul forend it replaced. The activation buttons are easy to get to and are very simple to operate; constant on, or a quick flash. The light is plenty bright and can easily light up a room. On a scale of 1 to 10...I'd give this product a solid 9. It's of very good quality, easy to install and will light up a living room, great room or basement as bright as you need. What gives it a score of 9? When racking the shotgun, it's very easy to hit the light switch...either turning the light on or off depending on where it was set. This can happen not only when racking the shotgun but also during the recoil pulse when it's fired. Something a new user will have to adapt to....I'm still working on it. Would I buy one again? The weapon light for people who hate weapon lights.
This is the light I've been waiting for. Simple, light, rugged, well balanced and natural to use. It feels like it was made by Remington, not Streamlight. The 1000 lumen beam is blinding to anyone unfortunate enough to be caught in it at night. It's wide enough to cover a room without unnecessarily targeting innocents. The switch is perfectly located for just about anyone and doesn't interfere with slide operation. This forend works perfectly. Great 870 forend
