    My New Favorite Workhorse

The clutch on my 10+ year old Makita 18V drill driver was starting to slip a little more often so I figured I should get a replacement as I started work on a new addition to my home. I purchased this Makita hammer drill driver because it is about the same size as my old Makita drill but will also double as a hammer drill when I need one. I compared features of different Makita hammer drills and this one seemed to be the best value - it is brushless, has alot of power when I need it, and is reasonably small. I love Makita tools because they are so well made and have the features I want and need.

  • Top critical review

Defective, not even close to the rated torque. But seller fully refunded purchase!

I own 6 Makita 18 volt drills and all of them have worked flawlessly for years, so I bought the XPH07Z specifically for the 1090 inch pound torque. When it arrived, the first thing I did was test the output torque. I used a new, calibrated, digital torque meter. The maximum I could get out was 420 inch pounds, and that was by letting the drill come up to speed and then stop it. The internal torque/current limiter tripped out well below the rated torque (38%). I measured the no rotation, starting stall torque at 250 to 300 inch pounds. Not sure how Makita could screw up so bad, but the XPH07Z tool is defective.

  • Second one

This is my second xph07 and the fifth one at the shop. Everyone here loves it, the drill is really high torque and will drill stuff that you're not supposed to on speed 2. Just don't forget to switch it to speed one when really working the drill because it will overheat. The thing is so powerful it will push right through anything on speed 2 even thought it's not good for it. Use it wisely and it's a powerhouse.

  • More power than you will ever need

This drill is extremely powerful make sure you use the side handle I already almost broke my wrist once. Hammer function works great, the 2 speeds are great. This drill will drill things in speed 2 no other drill will.

  • The best,Longest lasting and strongest most reliable of all drill drivers out there

I use this drill every day.It is an extreme tool.It can honestly damage your wrist.Use the supplied long handle for safety. It is worth the money.I like makitas philosiphy of not changing stuff that works.Their tools lasts for years.Just do not drop the tool in deep water when working. That damages the battery and the charger will lock the battery. • Great Drill Great Price

I bought this drill and tested it for a YouTube video titled “Top of the Line Makita Brushless Hammer Drill XPH07” in which I tested its torque and hammer function. I was not let down. This is a very powerful and well made drill at an unbeatable price that I recommend to everyone. The only downside is it’s a bit heavy but that’s a given with such a powerful machine.

  • Best Makita drill I've used

This is a truly well made drill. Heftier, but much more power than the XPH drills. The metal Chuck collet is way better than those and the bits spin much truer. Overkill for most people, but if you build and mount things a lot, just go for it.

  • Powerful and great value for a bare tool

For a cordless hammer driver-drill this one in my opinion is the best. It has a lot power and it doesn't eat up a lot of battery. I use one of my 18-volt LXT Lithium-Ion battery from my cordless drill and the battery indicator still shows a lot of power left. This is a great value for a bare tool.

  • strongest Makita hammer drill. awesome.

The drill is the strongest of all the regular sized Makita hammer drills, they have actually five different models. Took several days longer than it was supposed to to ship but welcome to covidville...
