Rit dye color Black
I am pleased, overly pleased with the dye. The box is easy to open and no mess. The grains dye more than one fabric item. The dye does not leak, and holds well even after more than one wash. It will temporary stain un gloved hands but comes off with rubbing alcohol. I hang dry all dyed clothes before washing too prevent staining my machine. I have not chosen a favorite dye color but I am particularly fond of the Blues, reds, and greens. This box I used on a jacket made out of denim, jeans, socks, and a blue shirt. The blue shirt didn't turn black. It turned out a soft grey blue. This dye is really wonderful. The black jeans, socks, jacket, all turned back too the pitch black as I had wanted. I had not used any other dye before this brand. I might try a diffrent brand too find out if the black can compete with this black dye. The blue shirt I dyed in the black bucket was a test too see if it would turn the whole way. I am going too continue too use this brand for my denim jeans. I am very pleased with the product. To dye 4 or 5…
I purchased five of these because I wanted to die a brand new sofa cover and I wanted it to be extra black to go with my home decor. I followed the instructions to the T. I used extra dye, 5 of them in my solution and it looks like nothing happened! there were no streaks, no blotches, not a glimmer of black remains.. I purchased the covers gray; it is still gray, perfectly gray! it looks like I did nothing to it and this was an hour and a half process of boiling water and putting in salt and stirring, you know- like the instructions instructed! My cotton ones easily blacked. I've synthetic ones that didn't drown out. Still worked. Dye More Synthetic. Some shirts the fabric but not the seams changed color. Regardless I love the value. Dye Dye Dye !!!
I used it on four old T-Shirts that were extremely faded, but otherwise in perfect condition. They fit well so I didn't want to lose them. Although the material of these shirts is good for wear ... it does not dye well. They were left in the dyebath for a few days and then hung out to dry in the sun without rinsing and then washed. The results were beautiful! They look new and Very Very Black ... I am not sure that a few days were necessary, but that's what I did ... Thank you Rit ...
