Probably made in the same factory as the name brand stuff
Cyclists are a funny bunch. They have a magical belief system in name brands and weight. We ride bicycles, not pilot the space shuttle. The generic brake cable I bought works every bit as good as the jagwire I have in my shop. No difference in braking performance. The only thing that is different is that it cost me half of what the expensive stuff costs. Just what the doctor ordered!
Excellent for bicycle brake linings. Cables move smoothly through the cable housing without any hitches when I pull the brake levers. Nice! I think lined brake cable housings are the best for this. Simply cut to length with a cable cutter, I personally use an icepick to clean out the cut ends a file to clean the ends. Doing this assures the cable slides through nice and easy. Usually leave off the housing ends until the cable is through then slide them up the cable and push them on the housing. Thats just a personal preference but whatever works works. Teflon Lined Brake Cable
If you want to replace the outer cable on either your brakes or 3 speed shifter cable, this is the way to go, as the old original cables have a steel outer coil that surrounds the inner steel cable. After many years the inner and outer parts rust together. The advantage of the Sunlite outer cable is that it has a teflon inner lining that separates the steel outer coil from the steel inner cable, so it will never rust!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
