Durable, quiet, easy installation. Beware of the lower-priced Chinese models, that have lower quality with the lower price. This unit cost 50% more but it works well! I just replaced an older model identical to this one, after 8 years, so I'm a very satisfied return customer. You can buy much more expensive models (and less expensive ones), but this one is a better value than either, for the money.

This is actually my third one of these. The first was replaced after about 15 years. And the second one lasted about 10 years of heavy use. It is quiet and powerful and none of them have given me any problems at all. They were easy to install and the installation directions were very clear and easy to follow. But, I didn't have to replace the sink flange because they all fit onto the original flange. That saved a few steps.

KitchenAid is a quality company and I own several of their products. When my Badger disposal started to lock up and showed signs of rust, it was time for a change. For about the same money I replaced the Badger unit with KitchenAid. It's better built and more powerful. I have one suggestion regarding the installation. The manual states to reinstall the circular retainer clip from underneath the sink and put the disposal unit on top of the sink flange to provide resistance. I better way to reinstall the circular retainer clip is from the standing up position. Reach through with one hand from the top of the sink while holding the retainer clip in place underneath with the other hand, then slip it into place.

It is quieter than the insinkerator I just replaced. Easy to install. Hope to get many years of use out of it. I thought it would be a tad smaller as the description made reference to being good for smaller undercabinet spaces, but it was the same size as the last 1/2 hp disposal. Don't go thinking you'll reclaim any space to use for storage.

Much quieter than my old unit and easy to install. Removed electrical cord from old unit, cleaned up the electrical connections some and installed it onto the KitchenAid unit. Installed new sink mount and connected the disposal. It came with a discharge tube that went directly into a p-trap, already had p-trap in system so I purchased a straight tube and connected it as the original configuration.
