A very good product. I used it to mask HO scale car windows for painting. It does a beautiful job.

I could have spent less time and had way better results using tape. I tried using this for a clear cockpit on an expensive model airplane. If you put it on too thick (which isn't much, it will run. When you do put on a light coat, it shrinks away from the edges when drying. So I ended up having to do about 4 to 5 tedious coats. Then when it came to peeling off, it left jagged/bad edges (not due to my application cleanliness). Really disappointed. Now to spend a bunch of time hopefully fixing with a brush.

I've had very mixed results with this product. I've found that more often than not, the bond of the mask is pretty mediocre. Even with spray work, it does not prevent paint from getting under it. On the other hand, a good masking tape (e.g. Tamiya's) has never failed me. Furthermore, and somewhat ironically, it can get tricky when it comes time to remove the mask. While it doesn't stick particularly well, the fact that it's painted on to the surface makes it difficult to find edges. The directions recommend using tape to remove it, but I've found that is easier said than done. I do NOT recommend using this to mask clear parts, due to the high likelihood of bleed-thru even with an airbrush or spray cans. All it takes is a little, and you're hosed. However, on solid parts it is somewhat fine. Just don't use it for anything that requires a really precise mask.Read full review

Was working on a rather complicated painting project the other day. Couldn't figure out how I was going to mask off many small windows. Then it hit me. Microscale Micro mask. This stuff works just like they say its supposed to. It took a bit of working with a paint brush in order to get complete coverage ( the product didn't want to adhere to some areas) but after a few extra swipes over those areas it covered completely. Takes a good hour to dry. One thing to watch out for, the directions (printed in .00002 font) say it is best to use a solvent based (not water based) paint. Good thing for me that was what I was using. It is my guess that water based paint may melt the mask and allow bleed through. Before using water based paint over this product I would recommend doing some experimenting to be sure.Read full review

It was impossible to cut w/o coming off the windshield. It also absorbed into a painted area and won't come off. Must paint carefully on area... stay within lines to then peal. Still needed much work to use. Is clear w/bluish tint.
