Good value and solves the steam leak.
Pressure cooker sealing rings do not last forever, and when they get "tired" they fail to fill and seal the groove in the lid where they are seated. Your cooker will no longer whistle or hiss and you will feel the lid rotating much too easily when you close or open it. When this happens the cooker does not come up to proper heat and you are simply boiling the food, not pressure cooking it. You probably don't need to install the new air vent that comes with it, but hey, it's in the package, so use it if you want. Take care of these--think before using
It's a "new old stock", but still old, piece of rubber. It's pretty stiff...I've removed it from the small box and am successively stretching it round on larger and larger plates. Will probably Armor-all at that point before using. But the thing is, my old one would have lasted another decade had I not gotten careless. It is absolutely critical you remove these for storage and then store in the pot in a sadde/Pringle shape. MOST IMPORTANTLY...coat these with cooking oil before re-inserting these into the lid before each use. Otherwise you get little regions that leak and the steam cavitates away small chunks of the rubber. I'm keeping my old one...it will probably still work if I coat it with Crisco instead of oil to seal the cavitated regions.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Not so good
The problem I had was that it took repositioning the seal several times while cooking due to the seal leaking and not building pressure and I always lubricate the seal before using with cooking oil. This has happened 3 times. I think it is due to being packaged in a twisted way and taking a “set” if left on the shelf too long before it is used. I would think eventually it would relax and seal without having to de-pressurize the pot and rotate the seal or flip it over before it would seal. This is the first time this has ever happened with my pressure cooker. I have purchased seals from the same site before and haven’t had a problem till now.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

For some reason, it takes a LONG LONG time for the pressure to build up with these gaskets.
I've ordered gaskets from our local hardware store in the past and NEVER had an issue with them. To me, it's definitely worth the few extras dollars to get a QUALITY gasket. I ordered two of these on EBay and it takes a VERY LONG time for the pressure to build up. I'd NEVER order these again! It's as if they are seconds or something. Pressure Cooker Sealing Ring & Air Vent
I installed the sealing ring and air vent to my stainless steel pressure cooker and used it for the first time a few days ago. It worked very well and cooked my chicken in record time. There was no longer any water leakage out the lid when cooking. The lid is so much tighter when I put it on. Whew !!!
