A fantastic edition of the Street Fighter series that has fans still praising it's worth many years after it's prime. Street Fighter Alpha 3 the (currently) final installment of the 'Alpha' series ports a SUPERIOR version of the arcade variant over to the Sony Playstation, with added modes like 'World' mode where a player can customize features of a character according to their specifications as well as unlock goodies for use in all other modes. A mode called 'Dramatic Battle' where two players can simultaneously fight through several boss-empowered fighters. Many characters whom were fan favorites after being absent for years have made their triumphant return such as E.Honda, Blanka, Cody, Vega, Cammy, Guile + many others. This version still contains all of the elements that made the arcade game a success such as the 'ism' system. This inclusion varied the fighting styles (even further) of individual characters by providing certain abilities like air-blocking or dashing, or by increasing attack power but that character could no longer use air-blocks and would be limited to one specific 'super move'. Additional secret characters were also added such as Classic Balrog, Guile, Evil Ryu, and Shin Akuma. There is a secret (unconfirmed) that I had never used: 'see Dhalsim's wife'.. you have to hold down the square + R2 buttons during the loading screen and she'll cheer you on throughout that individual match. There are additional 'ism's to unlock as well: classic, mazi, and saikyou. People complain about this game's soundtrack compared to earlier installments of the series, I actually prefer many of the songs in this over other versions. The beats are always befitting of a fast passed beat em' up; and you'll find yourself remembering these tunes some time afterwards.Read full review
With the possible exception of SF3 Third Strike, SFA3 is the best Capcom 2d fighter, and the PSX version is the best one out there. Unlockables, level up your fighter, personalize him or her to your specific style (lvl. 32 Shin Akuma with full offense is definitely worth the effort!) and some of the best sprites of the era. Mix in some great music and tight, responsive controls and you have a legitimate classic. If you find this at a good price, nab it! Fighting game fans owe it to themselves. It even features Zangief as the focus of the cover. That's confidence, and it's well deserved.

Anybody who has any true appreciation of videogames can tell you of the emense impact of Capcoms foot print both the arcade and gouse-hold gaming. Street Fighter being one of those classic gems only now that 16 bit was making way for the the 3d polygon takeover, but Capcom stayed true to its 2d roots but with more storage on a disc compared to cartridges of past more fighters more add-ons, like leveling up charcters stats more arcade battle styles a true blast from the past. The game was a well worth purchase still holds strong even when compared to the modern and more refined three dimensional fighters froms PlayStation's upgraded versions PlayStation 2-3 and 4 to its competitors Xbox series or the New age Nintendo.

I love the game! It came in pretty good shape. The disc had a few scratches, but I took it to my local gaming store and had them resurface it for me, and now it looks and plays great!!

The game is amazing! It plays so fluid. This is game that worked amazingly on both the Sega Saturn and the Playstation 1. The load times are quick, the graphics are smooth, and gameplay is just right. I can play it on my original Playstation or my Playstation 3 with no issues!
