Kershaw’s Composite Blade Technology joins two high-performance steels in one. The wavy copper line you see running through the blade is the brazing that permanently joins the razor-sharp, durable D2 cutting edge to the Sandvik 14C28N spine.

  • Great knife , cool look !

I have a few Kershaw knives and love them all. A company you can buy from and know anything will be high quality and fairly priced. MADE IN USA ! If you get the Leek , get the composite blade ! It looks cool and the D2 steel holds an edge you can only find in more expensive knives. I don't much like the blade lock and I may remove it soon. The belt clip holds it nicely in my pocket. American knives are competitively priced and worth searching out.

  • Sweet & Sharp

The value brings it from 4 to 5 stars. This blade is very similar to other higher priced damasteel versions. Opening mechanism is smooth. Blade has a very useful shape and point for certain tasks. Could it be better? Yes. More sturdy frame and lock mechanism would take away from the slim design however.

  • 4 star review of the 1660 Leek

Great little knife for small chores, but thin blade tip is prone to damage. To give it 5 stars, I would like to see a sturdier design of the blade itself. I think the blade needs to be a little thicker for demanding tasks. I've heard thin blade edge is prone to rolling, but I haven't had that problem since I don't use this particular knife for that duty. Still the sandvik 14C28N steel is excellent as far as sharpness and edge retention. One sad note is that the safety lock is prone to failure. The tab has a tendency to snap off. I really don't use it anyways, so it's not a deal breaker.

  • Kershaw knives & Santa Fe Stoneworks, artistic designs, on Kershaw knives.

Kershaw, one of my favorites. Great blades, action, and warranty. Santa Fe Stoneworks...tops in their artistic field. I have collected countless numbers, of these knives.

  • Leek Madness

Best all around knife I've had, I skinned and butchered a deer with it and stuck it back in my pocket, still razor sharp. From big jobs to small the composition blade leek does them all, effortlessly!!!

  • Kershaw 1660CB for EDC

I have carried this knife almost exclusively since it came out. D2 steel has always been an excellent choice for knives and the powder metallurgy version is awesome. I have owned three of the knives since I lost two wearing short pocket shorts in the summer and using the pocket clip. Pulling my hands out of my pocket while getting gas apparently pulls the knife out and it falls to the ground. This never happened with jeans or cargo pants and I liked the knife so well I had to replace it. Twice. The ease of opening is great, the weight is super and the blade shape is perfect to my wants.

  • Another excellent Kershaw

Great design. Very sleek and slim. The composite blade is real and holds an edge for a very long time. I sharpen mine with a Worksharp brand sharpener and use a leather strop to maintain the edge for over a month before resharpening. It's a beautiful knife that I replaced my former Kershaw with and I carry it every day at work.

  • One of the best knives for a great price.

Excellent knife - came already well sharpened. I had a regular leek knife, but this composite knife is much better, and is supposed to keep its edge better. The knife size is perfect for sticking in your pocket. From previous experience with a Kershaw knife, it is best to use blue glue on each of the screws that hold the clip and hold the knife together.
