I reviewed several options for routers before concluding this Asus was the unit for me. I was less concerned about price than I was concerned about reliability, security, and ease of configuring. I purchased this router to replace a simple, low buck router provided by my ISP. The former router was problematic, with weak signal strength inside the structure and also losing connectivity with the ISP. My ISP is a small, local wireless broadband provider. I had to have the ISP reconfigured their end, because they would no longer be able to remote into my router for troubleshooting. When I spoke with the tech regarding questions to configure the router, and I mentioned my new unit was an Asus RT-AC1900, he got very quiet and replied, "Uh...yep. That's a great router. You should have zero issues with it." Setting up the unit was rather intuitive even though I followed the instruction manual. I appreciate that different levels of security can be configured for equipment directly connected to the unit versus outside accounts that connect via WiFi. I did have issues when initially configuring the router that my PC could not connect to the Internet although my laptop could (via WiFi). Then, *poof* everything with the PC worked and has been doing so ever since. The WiFi pumps out an extremely strong signal. My house is a brick structure on 10 acres. My cell phone shows the WiFi signal, at medium strength, at over 300' away. I have a tornado shelter in the floor of my garage, which is a very thick metal box embedded in the floor. I've had to take shelter due to inclement weather and, while the cell phone signal is lost (the box becomes a Faraday cage), the cell phone shows considerable strength on the WiFi spectrum. That's impressive! I've been using this router for over a month and am impressed and satisfied. Again, don't shop for a router based on price. Quality and reputation go a long way. The additional part I like is Asus actively pushes fixes to its routers, so I know the firmware is good to go without my having to actively check for updates.Read full review

My internet provider's router was not doing the job, maybe because of the number of connected devices. After 10 days of use, this router appears to have been the answer. Seems to better manage internet demands to improve downloading and streaming. I also like being able to control each devices demands along with prioritizing demanded use.

These WIFI routers are easy to setup offer everything a person could want. Guest WIFI Built in VPN Printer Server Media Server Cloud service and much more. There are great IOS and Google Play apps offered for free that interface with the routers. Last but not least ASUS continues to provided great support with regular firmware updates.
