I've been playing guitars for 50 years, and the Chinese Epis are great guitars. This is my most recent purchase. It didn't sound nor play well out of the box but my friendly guitar tech sat down with it and some screw drivers for about 15 minutes and now it is awesome! The pickups are a bit brighter than "typical" humbuckers, probably because they are without covers. I might add a pair and see what that does. It is also possible to turn down the treble a notch on the amp (duh!). The controls work well and the "coil splitter" pots do make a nice difference in the tone. I can almost get a Tele sound from it. Feel-wise, I'm not a big fan of the "satin finish" but the guitar is so good otherwise I will force myself to get used to it. "Sacrifices must be made". In summary, this guitar isn't as sweet as my Gibson Lucille, but for the difference in money, it's well worth it! Get one! If you don't like it, put it in the closet for a while then trade / sell it. You should be able to get close to your money back.Read full review

I bought for the cheap because battery door was broken. Didnt really care about the boost and I also didn't know leaving her plugged in drains the battery. Took out the battery and man!! Super sweet pups and to me the most important feature? THE NECK IS NOT "STICKY" The neck profile is an awesome fit and my thumb does NOT bind up playing up and down. I can not recommend this guitar enough. I keep sanding my other guitar necks, and this one is sooooo smooth!!! AWESOME GUITAR I WANT MORE!!!

Whether your a long time Les Paul fan or a new comer, you'll find this guitar to be a fantistac instrument at great price. I own pricy guitars that play well. This Epiphone Pro plays comparably to my more expensive units at a fraction of the cost. The Pro I purchased is a factory 2nd. The only real disadvantage is there is a minor flaw that was not revaled until I received the the guitar and looked it over carefully. The flaw was a small chip in the head stock paint. Hardly noticeable to the listener, and in no way affects the playability or sound of the instrument. Perfect purchase for a beginner. Buying the Epiphone will guarentee a professional quality experince for just a few dollars more than a cheap, difficult to play off-brand. A+, highly recommended.
Just bought this bad boy about two weeks ago. Had it set up and it's probably the best sounding and best feel I've had thus far. Beautiful blue color. Versatile because of new features like 10db boost and split coil taps. I've owned over 30 guitars in my 25 years of playing. At this point I'd say this one has pleased me the most.

Some of the best money I've ever spent - A "real" feel Les Paul with a beautiful color. VERY happy with this guitar (and I've been playing for over 50 years).
