Fantastic
I am a 60 year old player. I've been through my share of pedals and wiring messes and rack equipment over the years. Particularly Line 6 rack products. Pedals are a mess with the plugs, board and power supply. The rack stuff is terribly inconvenient. It's large, not portable in a quick and easy sense and is too much to lug around. I got this Zoom to try out and see if it would solve these problems and it does. It is the best pedal I've ever used. There are some minor quirks with switch combinations but that is expected in a such a compact unit. Most all players once past the noise creation stage have 3 maybe 4 sounds they play continually. This pedal will do it in an easy to use and easy to carry format. It is fine in the studio. I have both outputs into my mixer then using the aux master buss out to my two amps. It's just great. The balanced output I have sent raw to one channel of the same mixer to record and then apply effects if needed during mix. The effects more than suit what I need. Delays are very nice. I can't say I would not sell this box because one day technology will supersede this unit and the next one will most likely be even better. But the days of loose stomps and rack mount processors are over for me. I promise you if I gave you a blind hearing test with a song using this and an Axe Fx you wouldn't not know the difference. If you are young you are living in a very good time to see all this goodness come out. I did the research and this unit beat the Digitech RP360XP hands down. So if you are looking give this a try. I did not want the G5 because it was too big and I was looking for compact and portable but it has some nice features.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Nice effects but needs android control and external power supply jack doesn't disconnect the battery, you have to unplug the guitar input even with external power supply off or it is still on battery power. Zoom G3 (original model) great tones - easy to use!
This is a great cross between a great sounding amp/pedal modeler and stomp boxes. You can use it in stomp box mode, where it is like having 3 stomps with a foot switch and parameter knobs for each stomp box. You can use 6 effects or an amp model and 5 effects at once so to see the other three you have to shift the view over. You can do it with the foot switches while playing or your finger while programming.It's a bit of a hassle to do live, though. It's a lot easier to use this pedal than DigiTechs or Pods.Unbelievably, the amp models sound more realistic and less digital than other units costing three times more. Check out the YouTube demos by Henky Bakker doing AC/DC, Boston and Van Halen tones. It sounds that good! I use it in the effects loop return of a clean tube amp or a Peavey Studio Pro (also through the return). I haven't used it direct, but the aforementioned demos are direct. The cons are few : No Boss Blues Driver model, but the Marshall Guvnor model is good. That and the Rat Model into the front end of a loud tube amp on the verge of breakup sound VERY convincing. I use it both ways- pedal models into the front end or pedal models into an amp model into the effects return. It sounds great either way. The only other quibble I have is one of the knobs feels "frictiony" when turned. This is my second G3 ( I sold one a few years ago and bought a Boss ME-80, but decided to get another G3) and both G3's had the knob issue. They still work though. BTW the Boss is a great unit form factor wise and of course built like a tank but the G3 sounds better for amp models and overdrives. I'm building a Wampler pedal board to play through my Peavey Classic 20 head (great amp!) but the G3 is a great grab n go solution or in my case a backup.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

A small stompbox with a surprising number of great effects
The MS-100BT is a great value and incorporates a number of excellent effects, particularly in modulation, delay and reverb effects, but it also has some surprisingly good emulations of overdrives/distortions and fuzz. I don't use the amp simulations (I'm using the MS-100BT in front of an amp/cab), but many (okay, not all) of the the ODs/fuzzes are very good sims of their modeled ODs/Fuzzes - in particular the Big Muff, Tone Bender, ProCo Rat, Octavia, but also their own sims of very high gain distortions, e.g. 'Extreme Distortion' and others and most very good. Perhaps not quite as good as the analog devices Zoom is trying to emulate, but quite close enough for live gigs where analog subtleties are not so important, and if you're not too picky, all these ODs and effects will work in the studio as well.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Amazing Sounding Unit!
When I received this unit, it took me a while to understand how it works. It can do 6 effects at once, but you can only see three at a time. You see the others by scrolling left and right. The manual could be better. I have only tried it directly through a PA. It sounds pretty amazing. I will be trying it through my combo amp soon, but I hope to just go directly to the PA for gigs. The reverbs, chorus, delays, and flanger are very nice. It also has a rotovibe type effect that isn't bad either. The amp models are great. I play mainly blues music, so I use the Fender Vibroverb amp model with a 4x12 cabinet model. Sounds great! I don't think you will find another unit with this much to offer at this price point. It is fun programing your own custom patches. The computer editing software is great and there are free third party patches online. I am 100% happy with it, plus it can run on batteries! Great value, need to tweak.
Very good value. Flexible and fun. The presets need tweaked in my opinion, but are a good place to start. For example, all of the gains are set so high that the noise level is problematic and unacceptable, especially when feeding into an amplifier. Tweaking the gains and volumes down in the front end effects and then boosting master volume output of the G3N or simply increasing volume and/or gain at your amp provides a very pleasing result. I have taken the preset patches, tweaked them to what I like and saved them with a new name in the open slots. Example - the Carlos patch is too noisy so I adjusted the compressor setting and volume output to my liking, renamed the patch Carlos + and saved it in an empty slot. G3X for learning and performing
Great little "do it all" machine. Combines a very wide range of fx patches, amps and cabinets into one device and makes it easy to organize groups of patches and customize settings to make your guitar sound the way you want. The 40 second loop works easily and well. The tuner is easy to see and use. The rhythm function is useful, mostly for practice, but also for backing some songs in performance. Finally Replaced my RP200
I've used an older Digitech RP200 for years now. Although it was small enough to carry in my guitar bag and has successfully done hundreds of gigs, there were always certain annoyances that I just put up with. One was the volume pedal, it was incremental and not like a real pot-type pedal. I got a really nice clean sound but if I wanted to push it solo-wise it just never had any balls like you would push a tube type amp. Then on the distortion side I never could find that happy medium, either full blown or nothing. Well this Zoom G3X totally eliminated those problems plus being able to bring in certain effects on a certain patch really is nice. It was a bit challenging at first to program. I got better info off the web than the instruction manual. But it is not bad, even for an old guy (I'm 60). I love the sounds (I've always thought Zoom had a great handle on that) and although it doesn't quite fit into my guitar bag, it perfectly fits into the pocket of my Earl T. Mosfet 100 cover. The combination of the two gives me everything and more that I need for doing Praise and Worship, country gigs, and blues gigs and I'm able to carry my rig in one trip without pulling the tendons in my fingers. Zoom G3X Guitar Effects Processor
I really liked it and was able to dial in the tones I needed. Then, I read reviews of the G5, returned the G3X and got a G5 which is an expanded version of the G3X. After years of Digitech, Line 6 and Boss processors, I'm liking Zoom better. Seems I can dial in the tones I need easier. I don't like the smaller number of patches per bank when playing live, but I usually don't need more than 3 for a gig. The USB to computer for patch editing is nice. I was skeptical about the unit since it is inexpensive. But once I hooked my guitar up to it, MAGIC. Very professional sound packaged in a sensible yet sturdy case. In the studio or on the road, this mini treasure will get the job done! You won't regret this choice. I'm not a fan of the presets, so I spent a few hours perfecting my own sound-bank of stomp boxes.
