This microwave replaced one that failed in less than three yrs ago. This model does light up every time door is opened unlike before None of the new models work like their 1990 predecessors one of which lasted 24 years the old one cost almost $250 back in 1990 but if you went by the last units 3 yrs life at $120 it would have cost us $960 with the current models Microwave is used a lot and it may have over heated causing failure ...I do not know But it works now that all a 63 yr old man with a stroke survivor wife needs to get back online without re learning all the new keypads of other micros I e its GREAT until it dies LOL GREGVerified purchase: YesCondition: New
