RetroLink's N64 replica controller seems a bit more flimsy than the traditional N64 controllers that I remember. It seems thinner and far less heavy, but that doesn't necessarily translate into bad quality. Out of the package, every single button worked perfectly, and the analog stick (which is technically the most vulnerable component) performed excellent. USB connectivity was spot on, without the need for any drivers. Simply plug, play, and assign your commands to each key. Perfect for emulators like Project64, though you may need to dial down the analog stick's range from the default 100%. I find 65% to be an excellent value.
I used the controller on a Raspberry pi 2 with the Retropie emulator. The controller was recognised immediately and the configuration was easy. However, the joystick makes contact only at the edges of its range. It works like a button with true/false making any smooth move (like aiming/turning in GoldenEye) impossible.

Feels solid, and the joystick works well. It's different than the original, perhaps lighter to the touch more like a modern joystick. In terms of functionality a large improvement over the original in my opinion. Overall very satisfied with the controller!

I've used this for a couple weeks now, and O haven't had any problems with it. Just plugged it in, mapped the buttons in openemu, and went to town. The buttons feel right though a little loud. And every button is mappable separately.
