Mini Manual review A huge upgrade from using a Haynes manual for troubleshooting. It contains a lot of info. I think it may have the remove and install procs for everything. Lol. It's well laid out and a good quality binding book, so will last. The electrical chapter has been especially helpful, of which a small section shows all of the grounding locations throughout the entire chasis - with pics. Something that is very rare to see in a repair manual; a big plus. German engineering? Also has a good OBD code table and Index in the rear. It's not the only reference you'll need for a Mini Cooper, but it certainly picks up most of the heavy lifting. I was a bit hesitant about the price at first... But at a cost of less than one hour of labor anywhere but my garage, it's well worth it! 2008 Mini Cooper S R56 HatchbackRead full review

These manuals are fantastic. I definitely recommend them. In my case, this is the best available manual even though it doesn't cover my particular flavor of Mini Countryman S; mine is the All4 version and there aren't any versions that include it except the by-subscription-only one directly from BMW/MINI.

Overall, pretty good manual. However, if you're an above average mechanic, you might be a little disappointed in the detail. Example: manual walks you through Trans pan gasket and filter change, but offers NO information on changing the valve body, a common next step in solving transmission problems.
