Product Information: Gas charged lift supports are pressurized shocks that are used to support hoods, hatches, trunks, rear window glass, and more. These gas-filled, hydraulic rods lose power over time and need to be replaced. These gas springs are engineered and manufactured to industry OEM standards to provide the necessary lift support you need. To ensure safely, we recommend replacing gas springs in pairs when applicable.Gas Springs are also known as hood, hatch, liftgate, tailgate, rear window glass shocks, props, dampers, hydraulic cylinders, and arms. Fitment is car-specific and placement-specific. .
bought for PT cruiser which needed new struts. struts seemed just slightly too long for the application and bound-up somewhat in compressed (hatch closed) position. spring rate and damping were excellent however. use is ok if you remember to slam the hatch shut.
One of the threads on one of the struts wouldn't grab so I couldn't get it installed, one screwed in fine on both sides of the car so I know it wasnt the car, had to use one old strut to make it work. Ended up stripping out the t40 to get the bad threaded one out as it got stuck screwing it in to the other side due to ill threading.
