Guitar Teacher's Opinion
As a guitar teacher I felt it important to have fret dots on the bare fingerboard of one of my acoustic guitars, so that students could see which position I was playing at. I just used the medium-sized abalone markers which were easy to apply and look fairly genuine. They work well and aren't felt by the fingers when playing. Plus they match the abalone inlay, soundhole, pickguard and headstock logo. Excellent!

Quick fix but dull.
If you are looking for simple dots, these are just fine, but do not expect dazzling results. The one thing I do not like is that they do not catch light very well as other brands I have used; making hem dull in appearance.
