There are certain and devoted "Purists" who lay their own track. At some point in time much earlier in my life, that might have included me; who is now in his seventies. However, I still use many thousands of these fine "detail parts" on cars that I convert from mundane to veritable pieces of art...primarily; FLAT CARS and LOW SIDE GONDOLAS. These two (2) "work-horse cars" had a very big part in the expansion of the nations relatively young railway systems back in the mid 1930s to the late 1950s. Millions of tons of track and ties...perhaps BILLIONS OF SPIKES...plus the vast array of implements that were required to do the job. As a child, I was a day-to-day witness to this HUGE process...and remember it as though it was only yesterday!
