This a great sounding headphone. Wide soundstage with astounding clarity of high notes. The bass is tight and just right. Well balanced and extremely comfortable for long wear times. Needs a good headphone amp to drive these cans. Downside.....open backed and not good sound isolation. Meant for a dedicated listening environment. Overall, a great buy.

Pros- Detail, Soundstage, Timbre, Control, Realism, Comfort These are very detailed HP's, you will hear things you never noticed in your music before. The bass is good and tight, very controlled. Not quite as good as planar base, but very good. No bloat or muddiness here. Mids are sweet and warm - similar to HD-650. Treble is extended and present. Guitars, piano sound very natural, like someone is playing live in front of you. Spatial Accuracy is very good, easy to pick out where the bass player is vs guitar, etc. Most comfortable HP's I've tried. Light clamp. pads are shaped like D(matches your ears), and they are super light. Cons - Treble can be hot with bright amps. So, pair them with a warmer amp, tubes are best. Included cable is annoying, it always gets kinks and is impossible to keep straight.Read full review

Soundstage, Imaging Separation, Clarity, Smoothness, all perfect. Amount of bass is not much, but extension and details in the bass are excellent. And this is the kind of bass that I like, because it is "real". Many manufactures nowadays are emphasizing certain range of sound to please listeners without enough real live experience about how musics originally sound, and that is not right. Some old Sennheiser fans gave negative comments to HD700 because HD700 has a totally different sound signature with traditional Sennheiser products like HD600, 650 and 800. But personally I enjoy HD700 very much. You do need some serious amp to drive HD700 or they can sound even worse than some cheap cups.

I have a pair of HD 600s that I stored away for close to a year. A couple of months ago I pulled them out and gave them a try on an amp that I recently purchased. They weren't what I remembered. I liked them! They were open and airy. The 700s are the 600s on steroids. Granted I am using a set of Corpse Cables (not included but, highly recommended). They have an excellent soundstage, great separation with decent bass and a lot of definition. They are perfect for jazz. I would also think that they would be excellent for classical. They are quickly becoming my favorite headphone.

Amazing sound and spatial. Great for personal devices as well. I have a hp amp for this but the apple devices drive these well enough alone to enjoy. They truly shine when connected to an amp of there caliber. Have converted many fans of more mainstream and even more expensive brands over to the good side with these beauties. Love 'em!

Im first time in high end headphones, Sound is great as u can hear all instruments in a nice and cripy fashion performance! But bass is a bit light. u can almost forget u have them on, they are very confortable to the ears cause they seat in the head around the ears, and are light weight, and confortable, otherthing is that the ear might sweat heavy after few hours.

So far i've liked the results I've had when mixing with these headphones. Although the clarity is better than anything I've heard before, I wouldn't say they are ideal por "enjoying" music. More so for mixing. The Stereo imaging is very good on them. The bass is not too prominent which takes getting used to. Keep in mind you need a headphone amp to get the best quality our of these headphones. I use the Fiio A5 with them which I like as they give a bit of warmth and they have a bass boost which helps you check the fullness of the track you're mixing. Also, IMO, listening to music is more enjoyable with the boost on.

The most comfortable audiophile headphone you will ever wear. I took a trip to Calgary Canada and on my way back I wore these and even fell asleep with them on. Proud owner even though Senn has discontinued them. I've had my pair for almost 5 years now. Now what you're waiting for they sound superb but they're a lot better IF YOU HAVE A GOOD DAC AND AMP. I cannot stress this enough the HD 700 are like their bigger brother they are highly sensitive to your audio equipment and can sound completely different on separate DAC's. If you're interested in my setup it's a Topping D90/A90 (arguably one of the best combos you can buy right now) This eliminates the treble spiking. At least in my experience with them They're insane for gaming. The sound stage makes the surround sound better than any gaming headphone for shooters and the imaging is just fantastic. Just so you know I owned a pair of HD 600's and shipped them back for these. Never regretted that decision. The sound stage and overall quality is just that much better.Read full review

Step up from the Beyerdynamic DT 1990 Pro’s, Sennheiser HD660S, and any other headphones I’ve tried so far. So much detail, soundstage is great, imaging is great, and instrument separation is killer! Bass is excellent and way better than a lot of reviews make it sound, not light at all to me and great extension especially for an open headphone. Mids are nice and neutral, doesn’t stand out from instruments but isn’t hidden either. Treble is great, timbre can sound a tad bit off sometimes with the peak but is damn close and very nice sounding.

Light and big soundstage, the modhouse down kit makes them even better to balance them out. You need an amp with lots of steady voltage, 300ihm rated but they peak at 500ohm so it's deceptive. Balanced only helps if your amp puts out more power on the balanced plug. I tried them with the Magni Heresy and SMSL SP200 with excellent results.
