The pedal itself is a sturdy build. The spring I feel could be a bit stronger. May put a tougher spring for more tension if I can find I can do that. On another note the trigger effect with your foot is a bit different than if you were utilizing real cymbals. So I give this particular pedal 4. When you get used to it. Pretty darn cool and needed part to the main Kat unit.

I have multiple drum kits. I replaced a expensive hi-hat pedal that was not functioning properly with one of these. The KAT pedal is working out fine! My only concern is that it has a plastic base. We will see how that stands up to travel and frequent use. Thank you

I was trying to use a keyboard sustain pedal for the hi-hat on my KAT drum pad and it just didn't cut it. The KAT KT-HC1 Hi-Hat pedal made all the difference in the world! Now it seems like playing the real thing! Yes I recommend this pedal and feel that I made an excellent purchase!

Everything was great, except that this pedal wasn't usable with my Yamaha dtxpress3. Which is my bad for not doing better research, however, it mentioned nothing about compatibility in the description. On the box it clearly states that this pedal is only usable with the Kat percussion drum module, nowhere to be seen on the description

Thanks Musicians Friend on another speedy and efficient delivery of my KAT hi-hat controller pedal! I was actually practicing with my band when it showed up, but appears I need to work on my settings as it needed calibration. All good!
