Just purchased a fifth wheel camper and only have “gooseneck” set up in my truck. A fifth wheel is not cheap and since I use the bed of my truck in daily basis , not convenient either. A bit skeptical at first on how this adapter would work. Now all I can say it’s s a great tool to have. Easy to install, saves a lot of truck space, no headache to get the fifth wheel in and out the truck. Also on the road performs much better. It does not have the fifth wheel bouncing. Thank you guys.

The way it mounts is very questionable. I torqued it to spec during install and about 200 miles into the trip something felt wrong. I disconnected the truck and checked it, the adaptor had come loose and nearly fell off on the ground. I put it back on screaming tight till i could get it home to return it. Well i took it off to send it back and what do you know... loose again... Save your money, family and camper and get a proper hitch!

I picked this style of adapter because I did not want to modify the 5th wheel in any way for installation. I have towed my 25' 5k fifth wheel and 36' 10k fifth wheel with this. No issues at all! I felt that it was smoother with it fully retracted to the lowest setting when I towed my 36'. Even with more hitch weight! I installed it myself no problem. Nice to have help for sure. Adjust everything as much as possible before you put it in place. Simple instructions. Easy latch system. I don't use the cheater rod for locking the latch since I have to attach the safety chains anyways. By the way, the cost of safety chains are around 80 bucks! Take that into consideration as well when making your decision. If you feel the need to drill holes into your hitch box of your trailer, there are holes on the adapter that you can do so. Why weaken the strength of something by drilling holes and creating weak points!Read full review

Good quality and easy to install. I ended up drilling my trailer hitch and installing the 4 bolts in the holes provided in the convertaball hitch. I’m can’t say they have to be installed but I felt better with them there. I haven’t gone on any really long trips yet but for how much I’ve pulled the trailer so far I can’t say it pulls any different than my 5th wheel hitch. Ball bearing style of lock seems to look and work well. Overall I’m happy with my purchase.

It is a well built unit. Hi quality. Just not sure how it is going to stand up to the use of going down dirt roads which can be rough at times. Will it stay where I have it set or will it slide down. It concerns me the set screws won't hold the tube in place. We will see. I have not used it yet and that is the only reason for the #4 rating. I will update when I have used it a time or two.

Very easy to install this on the used RV I bought to convert my hitch. Did not have to change out my truck bed hitch! Very neat!

This was so easy to install!!! Love not having to move standard 5th wheel hitch in and out of truck. Perfect answer for a 36' RV.

Said it would fit my RV and it didn’t. Understood the 30 day no return policy, didn’t understand the installation. This Is how I found out it didn’t fit my Rv. Hope it fits your RV though. It was a sturdy product for sure.

Lots more room in the back of pickup, no big bulky hitch in the back. We have a 38 ft Trailer and it pulls smoother with the ball. Great choice!!!
