Helps a lot.
The original plug sticks right out the back of the computer and creates much leverage. So I looked for a right angle to relieve the stress on the power plug. I've always found that because I use a lot of electronics while sitting in my recliner they fray or do damage to the electronics This works well. It shortens the amount sticking out the back by half. So, there is less leverage on the power plug plug-in. Plus, it swivels up and down to relieve stress in those directions. Great deal for the price.

Can't they make a flatter one?
