First i replaced the power supply,but that didnt fix it.I took a chance on the motherboard and that fixed it! I had amber light on but power button did nothing,button on power supply would spin fan but went off sfter letting finger off.Put new motherboard in and put new 2032 battery in and now as good as new!

This was an exact replacement for my original motherboard. I tried some aftermarket motherboards, none of which worked, but when I installed the DZ87M01, my computer booted right up as if I just restarted it. Even when I opened my Firefox browser it prompted me to the restore session page from my last browsing session. My previous MB was completely dead also.

I PURCHASED 2 OF THE DELL XPS8700 PC FROM DELLOUTLET 2 YEARS AGO. THE WIFE HAS ONE AND MINE WENT OUT. DECIDED YO JUST GET A NEW ONE. WANTED TO ADD A SOUND CARD SB RECON3D WHICH I DID BUT NEVER COULD GET IT TO LOAD THE DRIVERS. IT SHOWED UP IN THE DEVICE MANAGER BUT I HIT A WALL AND THEN JUST USED THE BUILT IN SOUND. NOT SURE WHY THIS IS. I PUT A SOUND CARD IN THE OTHER ONE I HAVE AND IT WORKS FINE.
