The Nikon Camera is exactly what I was looking for. It takes great photos! I get Nikon performance at an affordable price. I'm new to photography, so I decided I needed a nice camera. After months of shopping online, in local stores and reading a few thousand reviews, I found the Nikon 5200 was the camera I should be getting. I've had my Nikon camera now for about a week. Every moment I had, this camera was in my hands. I've been playing with all the buttons, lens, dials and I'm so happy with the ease of use and the great photos it produces. It's my, opinion Nikon makes the best photographic equipment! I'd recommend this camera to anyone! My family and I are very pleased with this purchase, price, delivery time and the "star" Nikon camera.

I got this factory refurbished nikon for a great price. However it looked like I could have bought it from a pawn shop for the same price and did not come with the manual and very little like an SD card. No it does not say it has one. But Factory refurbished at Nikon gives one so whats the deal?

I bought this camera and lens for normal close ups and far away shots. I wanted to explore my techniques and expand the skills I have with a point and shoot. The pictures are crisp when using manual and aperture modes. The zoom function along with the histogram makes a remarkable product. Excellent camera and lens. I'd recommend getting a f/1.8G lens as well for crisp clear close ups. I also recommend a remote flash along wth a soft box. The 18 to 105 is really good for normal close shots and well as far out ones. The 1/4000 speed is super fast and I don't need 1/8000 or even 1/250 shutter speeds.
works well, have lot of fun with it, its semi professional, intrey level, but still if your just shooting one pic at a time, will do the job well. I think if yo need faster or better quality go with a Cannon Mark5 IV, will be my next camera, best for the price. But this cam can do it all. I dont think it has messed on any pics so far.

It is a good DSLR camera . It's really got some nice image quality but not with the VR 15-55mm lens. You must purchase a different lens to have exactly what you want on your pictures to look like. It's also kind of navy camera thou, so, I decided to also buy the standing legs. The camera its in a good shape and also easy to use only if you know how to use a DSLR camera. ... 👌

Why did I buy this camera? I wanted a Nikon DSLR body to mount to my telescope; this is the first SLR I've used since I put down my old Nikkormat 10 years ago and went point-and-shoot digital. SLR photography has, er, changed since then! But much remains the same, and Nikon has done a good job of not "dumbing down" the craft with this camera. If you're a long-lapsed 35mm SLR buff like me, this camera will prove out that much of what you know/remember still applies. I purchased this model based on comparison of features of various Nikon DSLRs found on wikipedia, and weighing features / cost. Had no idea the DSLR world was so feature-rich; this camera is no exception. But the features are not just gimmicks, and they don't get in the way of the user just having fun and getting creative with the camera. Only downside/dislike, which I did NOT know about before purchasing, is that the previous generation of Nikkor lenses, which have a manual aperture ring, CANNOT be auto-focused with this camera. And the current generation of lenses, which CAN be auto-focused, have no aperture ring. (Example is the included 18-55mm lens.) So it's a compromise either way, which may stick in the craw of some old-school SLR purists. Still, those older lenses work. Shoot, the lenses from my old Nikkormat kit from the '70s work with this camera, since it allows full manual operation. Still, the camera is easy to use, fast, great optical quality with the included 18-55mm lens and with the 55-300 I bought since. Operating the controls, zoom, manual/auto focus, etc. becomes natural fairly quickly. You can easily switch from fully automatic mode to full manual ops, with several "semi-automatic" (aperture-priority, etc.) modes in between, to suit your immediate needs. Afraid I can't compare this to competing products, as this is my first and only DSLR. Recommended accessories: - Some kind of protective case, your choice of style/format - 52mm UV filter, mostly to physically protect the front element of the lens if nothing else (if you drop the lens, would you rather break a $20 filter or a $200 lens?) - HIGH capacity and FAST SD memory card - at 24MP, each pic file can get BIG, esp. if you use RAW mode - Extra battery, so you can charge one while shooting with the otherRead full review
I've been playing with my new camera for a few days now and am so impressed with the ease of operation and the fantastic pictures I have been taking from scenery to portraits. I've own and used Canon, Manalta and Sony in the past but they will find storage in the closet from now on. Love my Nikon and the kit that came with it. Best deal ever!

I am very happy with this product. The Nikon Camera is exactly what i was looking for and takes incredible pictures and videos. The auto-focus lens works exactly as expected, and comes in handy when taking videos or just taking quick pictures. The memory card writes pretty slow so i would recommend purchasing a memory card that writes at least 70mbs. Other wise you do get some fuzz on low lighting vids due to the writing not keeping up with the camera. The tripod was not the best, but it works. I would definitely recommend purchasing a good tripod for a camera like this. The flash is very bright and takes clear pictures at night. The extended zoom lens goes for around $150 dollars alone, so getting that with this camera for just an extra 50 bucks is incredible! You can be pretty far and get pictures that look like your standing right in front of the subject. It is complete manual focus, and once you learn it, it is amazing and fun to use. The memory card reader literally fell apart and did not work from the start, but you have to realize the tripod, memory card, and the bag are cheaper parts of this set. Looking back now i realized that i did not get the smaller tripod, but that is ok ill write the company .Over all i think the set is worth a lot more than the price, and is an incredible camera to buy. Nikon stays on top of its cameras, unlike what I have read and seen about Cannon. I would definitely purchase this product again if needed, or for a friend.Read full review

I have been in the dark ages of film for over 50 years and finally deicded to move up. I am very im pressed with the quality and the ease of use. I have to learn the multiple features yet but so far I only question my not going digital years ago. The D5200 handles like a dream and is exactly what it was presented to be. I have tried out a few older digital cameras but for the most part never got serious. I had no choice with all of this cameras features and I already had owned Nikon for years.
