I had to replace the old mirror, which was all dark and I could not see while backing up. This is OEM, plug and play (if you know what you are doing). When you rotate the mirror anticlockwise 90 deg to pull it off the windshield fixture, make sure you grab the cover (over the glass at 12 o’clock), otherwise you will rotate only the mirror in the knuckle and eventually pull it from the knuckle (undesirable). It was nice having compass in the mirror, my car did not have one. I had to recalibrate the compass: hold the hidden button until “C” is displayed and drive in circles. If when holding a number is displayed, that is the magnetic zone, chose the correct one by pushing the same button repeatedly. Overall works great, no dark spots, it is dimming in night, the compass light is dimming too. I like the red compass display too bad the newer Audis (C5 up) dropped all-red light dash.
