PowMr 100A Solar Charge Controller
This product actually functions as an MPPT SCC. Many Sellers use that for less costly SCC's, but I have found many of these cannot possibly function as a true MPPT SCC because they don't have the necessary parts like choke coils etc. Instead, they rely on a form of program to give the appearance of an MPPT SCC, which is misleading to those who are new to this area of using solar charge controllers. I have used, and still do use, some of those types of controllers, but keep in mind they are PWR, not MPPT controllers. In as such, with smaller panes below the 200W range, they do perfectly fine and do have their place in the market.
As for these MPPT SCC's, I have had problems with 2 of these that I had purchased, but they were replaced and those have been working fine for over a year now. I also use the wired remote interface for both and those work fine as well. If your controllers are not easily accessible to stand om front of, then you should get one of these for each one as well. They have a backlight which helps read them at night or in dark areas. The pictures show them w/o the backlight, then one with and then both with it on. They are bright backlights so you will definitely be able to read the output information about your controller and your solar system.
I also suggest getting as long of an additional extended warranty as possible as these are not cheap controllers to buy and if one should fail past the initial warranty period, you can easily replace it if it's still within the extended warranty period. After the initial frustration with the failed units, I've been very happy with the replacements. If you wish to use larger sized solar panels, in the 225W to 400W range, you should check out these 100A SCC's.
I hope this information and pictures help you with your decision regarding mppt solar charge controllers and good luck on your personal solar installation however you build it to fit your needs.
