This is a nice quarter sawn maple neck with a real rosewood fretboard.
Right off the bat this makes the neck better than 40% of the inexpensive guitar necks on the market.
The inlays are (of course) "Mother of Toilet seat" but this is fine, and expected.
The frets are medium sized, and neatly installed. I had a TINY bit of protrusion on both sides of the neck but a quick oil/bee's wax treatment, and a few days of sitting, and the fretboard has returned to the same dimensions as when it was fretted.
A quick polishing of the frets is all I had to do. They are level, and nicely trimmed on the ends.
I use these inexpensive necks for inexpensive guitar builds (beater guitars), and for my purposes they suit me just fine.
In fact I believe that these necks from song-maker (10986) are a good replacement neck for any "player grade" guitar.
