Amazing sounding and playing kit. Fantastic detail.
Fantastic kit, the walnut is a unique sounding drum wood. Deep in tone, not as dark as Bubinga and a little more aggressive than Maple. The drum mounts and hardware allow for the most resonant drums you will ever play. It has two outer plies of Japanese Chestnut which give a beautiful finish. These are hand made drums, by in my opinion possibly the best craftsmen in the business. If I could afford it I would buy a star kit in all three woods. These drums are just a dream to play, very articulate and responsive at all volumes. You simply can't stop playing them. I did switch out the heads for clear two ply batter and a ported BD head for recording. Started tracking with these and they simply sound amazing. You would do yourself a favor and try one of these kits out.
