This shaver holds a great charge and can shave quite close and leaves a smooth path of skin behind. I have yet to use the wet shave function. The most glaring deficiency is the trimmer. It's narrow, which isn't much of a problem, but it's mounted to a stalk that's curved towards your skin during use so the angle of best contact is awkward at best. The trimmer blades are also not at the very tip of the stalk so creating accurate lines is more difficult process. The shaver is way too expensive to have these problems. That said, I love everything else about it. I gave it all yeses, but I had to complain about the trimmer.

This product was purchased as an expected upgrade to the Braun 7 Series Cordless Razor I had been using for several years. While it certainly gives a great shave and is typical Braun high quality construction, there was no noticeable difference in shave quality, comfort or convenience over the Series 7. The one advantage I have noticed is a much longer battery life over previous models. On the negative side, I noticed the head locking switch is right where I am used to holding the razor, so I was constantly unintentionally locking the shave head. The other new feature is the self-cleaning and charging stand, which is definitely convenient but seems to be a marketing ploy to get consumers to buy replacement cleaning liquid solutions. After a few shaves of both my face and scalp, the light came on to notify me it was time to run the razor in the cleaning solution, which I did. However, after the first shave of my face and head after a full cleaning cycle, the reminder light again came on - much sooner than expected and indicated in the owner's manual. I shave my full face and head every other day, so the hair I shave stays very short and I anticipated needing to clean it more often than the manual recommended, but not after every shave. The one feature the Braun Series 9 does not have that I liked in the Series 7 is the three shave closeness 'levels' you can select which is great for anyone that suffers from bumps if they shave too close too often. The bottom line is that the Series 9 is a great shaver - just like the Series 7 - but not enough of an improvement to justify the higher price point over the 7. Braun is by far the best non-blade way to get a baby smooth face and head. Buy a Series 7 and save!Read full review

Electric shavers are fine if you accept them for what they are. A quick easy method to shave. They will never compare to a regular good razor, but they will do well enough in half the time. I've had many in my life and this one is as good if not better... and replacement parts are available. Battery life is great. Quality feels very good. Not sure if the expense is worth it, but considering I got a Series 9 Model 93xx with cleaner for less than $225 I'm happy. We'll see how I feel in 18 months.

Get an exceptionally close, thorough facial hair trim with this wet/dry Braun shaver. It has two types of trimmer that target difficult hairs, a protective skin guard and a pivoting head that moves in 10 directions to ensure no hair gets left uncut. Use this Braun shaver with shaving cream for an even smoother finish.

At age 65 I have had the opportunity to use a number of electric shavers in my time, and I shave daily in the morning. I will admit that most of them have been Philips Norelco. The past venture was the purchase of a Norelco Series 8000 1250X razor using an RQ12 shaver head manufactured by Philips Norelco in the Netherlands 3 years ago. After the first year Norelco stopped production of the RQ12 and sold the RQ12Plus. Garbage. Nowheres near the quality expected. Then Norelco came out with the RQ12Pro, and again a total failure at delivering a good shave. Now I have made the decision to leave Norelco and I purchased the Braun Series 9-9295cc Wet & Dry Electric Shaver and WOW. A true close shave. I do not have to go over the same areas a dozen times as with the Norelco 1250X. The 9295cc Series 9 offers a smooth, close shave with just two passes, without skin irritation. I am extremely pleased with the shaving results. The shaver uses the 92S shaver head, that exceeds the Norelco RQ12Pro. At a cost of $239.99 from BestBuy on Ebay, I feel that the unit is worth the money because the results are noticed from the first shave. The shaver is slightly louder then the Norelco 1250X, but a quality shave is the end result.Read full review
