DCC for RDCs
I recently obtained a set of N Scale Kato Rock Island RDCs and wanted to make them DCC as soon as possible. As far as I know the Digitrax DN143K2 is the only decoder available for these trains. Installation on the first one was a bit of a battle. But once I figured out how the contact strips went back in the second one was a breeze. The lights were reversed when I put it on my layout but Digitrax is aware of this and they have the CV's listed on their website to correct the problem. Digitrax also has a couple of entries on the DN143K2 info page for hiding the wires inside the trains.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Digitrax DN143K2 decoder. Installed in an n scale Kato RDC.
Taking the loco apart is tricky. The parts are all small so be patient and careful when installing them in the loco. Once it is completed the unit runs well. Mine had the lights round the wrong way, but help from the Digitrax tech support solved the problem within 1 hour.
