Pulling in a world of information. The Realistic DX-200 communication receiver is a vintage base station unit manufactured in Japan during the 1970s. It supports SSB, CW, and AM modes, with black color and a power of 20W. This analog receiver has three audio outputs including RCA and a headphone jack, with one input. The Realistic brand ensures quality and reliability for ham radio enthusiasts looking for a classic piece of equipment to enhance their communication experience.
Compared to other receivers in this class, it has very good sensitivity and selectivity. The unique tuning system takes a bit of getting used to, but all in all works well. The 500Khz calibrator is a plus to find band edges. Band 5 (13-30mhz) was pretty much dead and I had to re-align that band only. Since this receiver was purchased with the line cord cut off, I was pleasantly surprised upon replacement, everything functioned as it should with the exception of the 13-30 mhz band. Another great purchase!
It is in very good cosmetic condition, but the control pots and switches are very scratchy and are in need of servicing with deoxy or something that cleans and lubricates. I couldn't hear any radio station sounds on any of the different bands. Itt may require an antenna to receive the stations, so I need to hook up an antenna for further testing. I am somewhat disappointed in that. Other wise, I like the looks and appearance of it.
