This tool has been used several times crimping 2/0 welding cables. So far it has worked flawlessly. There were no directions provided; therefore, the web was researched to determine the numerical value of the dies for crimping the 2/0 cable. It seems to be of sturdy construction and is quite east to use. You have to take your time to ensure the the mating of the cable and end is completed correctly. At this point there is really nothing negative to convey.

I have used this crimper for 4/0 battery cable and it works well. The Crimper is a little on the heavy side but this is necessary to its function. The set came with a spare set of seals and a booklet. I now look forward to working with the heavier cable instead of dredging it.

This is a sturdy tool for crimping hex-shaped medium to large fittings. I made it work for me to crimp 6 AWG terminals by reversing the metal inserts and using just the flat sides to compress the terminals onto the wires. (I squished them flat, effortlessly.) It would be an even better tool if it had at least one selection of dies made for smaller terminals.

Great crimper for the price. If you care for it right, it will last a long time. Don't over crimp. Once you feel the handle is hard to pump, stop. Also look at the dies. When there very close together, your done. Pumping the handle after it gets hard to pump, will destroy the seals, and bend the crimper frame. That's a main complaint people make about this crimper and it's because there not using it right. I bought a hammer crimper at the same time. While trying to crimp Anderson lugs, this crimper did it with ease, while the hammer crimper was hard.

Used this system to perform about 40 crimps on 500 MCM wire and it works very well. We found the 300 mm crimp dies started cracking after about 30 crimps were done, but they continued to work OK. It is remarkable, that this small crimper will even work on a wire this large, so at this price it is a tremendous bargain. It makes a better crimp than the "bullet tip" universal crimpers that cost 100 times the money, so if you have a small job this is a very good option for crimping up to 500 MCM wire.
