I'm a journeyman HVACR tech. of 17 years and a bit of a tool nut. My "tin knocking" days are pretty much behind me, but occasionally I do some side work and installs for family. My 14.4 DeWalt shears were great, but I upgraded all of my cordless power tools to Milwaukee M18 a couple of years ago (yes, I was a hold out). These shears work smooth and are well designed. They have good balance, but like all of the heavy duty M18 line (not the cheapos that you buy at the big box stores) they are on the heavy side. I can handle the weight if it means quality. DeWalt's quality has dropped and although lighter, the batteries are not as good and neither are the cordless tools. Milwaukee isn't the cheapest, but as with most tools, you get what you pay for. Theses shears and all the M18 line get a big thumbs up from this guy. Just for reference, most of my gear is the brushless stuff (FUEL line) and I have the 1/2" hammer drill/driver, impact driver, 5 3/8 metal saw, tank vac, 6 1/2 circular saw, sawzall, and the shears. I have the 3/8 M12 drill and that little guy is as handy as a pocket on a shirt.Read full review
